		<description>I think the nutritional info in this recipe is wrong.
1/2 cup uncooked rice makes 1-1/2 cups cooked rice.
1/3 c cooked rice has 15 gm of carb. Therefore 1-1/2
cups of cooked rice would have about 66 gms of carb -
or 11 gm per serving. Then you would need to add the
carbs for the flour, onions, tomatoes, etc.

Also, I think the 4 gm of protein per serving is
wrong, because each serving is about 5 ounces (approx
150 gm) of meat and I am sure that there is more
protein in that than 4 gm.

I do think this is a good recipe for diabetics, but
the nutritional info is off.

INGREDIENTS

2 pounds lean round steak
1/4 cup flour
2 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 cup onion, chopped
1/3 cup green pepper, chopped
1 can (16 ounces) tomatoes
1/2 cup uncooked rice
1/2 cup low-sodium condensed beef broth
1-1/2 cup water

DIRECTIONS

1. Cut steak into 6 equal serving pieces.

2. Mix flour, salt, paprika, and pepper, dredge meat
in mixture.

3. Heat oil in a large frying pan.

4. Lightly brown onions and green peppers and remove
from oil.

5. Brown meat in remaining oil.

6. Cover meat with onions and green peppers.

7. Cut up tomatoes and add with their liquid to meat.

8. Sprinkle rice into pan.; add broth and water. Mix
thoroughly.

9. Bring to a boil, turn heat down, and cover tightly.

10. Simmer 1-1/2 hours or until meat is tender,
stirring occasionally.

NUTRITIONAL INFORMATION per serving:
7g Carbohydrate; 4g Protein; 3g Fat
349 Calories; 218mg Sodium
